Codeable 2.0: Empowering New Horizons for Marginalised Youth

In February 2023, SeamlessHR launched the second cohort of Codeable, dedicated to equipping marginalised individuals with the skills needed to navigate todayโ€™s competitive job market.ย

The second edition of theย  program trained 31 young people in areas vital to the tech industry: Soft Skills, Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Software Engineering. The curriculum also saw the addition of Product Design to reflect the growing demands of the modern workforce, equipping participants with versatile skill sets that position them for success across diverse career paths in the tech industry. Underpinning the effort was a team of 23 facilitators, the majority of whom are SeamlessHR staff.ย ย

2023 marked an important evolution for Codeable, building on a long-standing partnership with Special Olympics Nigeria, and a new collaboration with the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC). This alliance expanded the programโ€™s reach to include participants with both intellectual and physical disabilities. The partnership with LSSC also saw the inclusion of individuals from the Paralympics community.ย ย

With its second cohort, Codeable continues to break barriers, creating opportunities for communities often excluded from the technology sector. It is an initiative that embodies the belief that skillsโ€”and the dignity they affordโ€”can transform lives, opening doors to self-sufficiency and economic participation.ย ย

As Codeable evolves, its mission remains clear: to build a more equitable future, one empowered individual at a time.
