In July 2022, SeamlessForGood launched Codeable, our first CSR initiative in partnership with Special Olympics Nigeria.Â
In line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 4, Codeable is designed to tackle social inequality and exclusion by providing quality technology training for disadvantaged young people, including people with disabilities and those from lower-income backgrounds.Â
The first cohort trained 26 participants (with and without intellectual disabilities), providing participants with funds for internet subscriptions, transportation stipends, and free branded items.Â
Over three months, participants in the programme learned basic proficiency in programming, quality assurance, and product management, alongside soft skills, to boost their employability and readiness for today’s tech-driven workforce.Â
The first cohort concluded in September 2022, after which three participants were selected to join SeamlessHR as interns for a six-month period, which would help them build on the skills they have gained.Â
Among the interns is a participant living with intellectual disabilities. You can watch the documentary here.
